das Thema möchte ich einmal heranziehen.
Wir fliegen im Juni nach MIA. Wir sind in unserer Familie zu dritt und nehmen den Freund (17) unserer Tochter (17) mit.
Das Einverständnis seiner Eltern liegt natürlich vor.
Wir möchten alles so vorbereiten wie es richtig und notwendig ist. Sind die Hinweise 2012 bzw. 2016 aus Eurer Sicht noch aktuell?

unsere Erfahrungen sind zwar schon aus 2013, aber ich würde grundsätzlich wieder so vorgehen.
Wir hatten ebenso wie ihr den damals 17jährigen Freund unserer Tochter auf unserer Reise mit. Die Eltern waren geschieden, die Mutter hatte das alleinige Sorgerecht.
Wir haben den nachfolgenden Vollmachtstext verwendet, der von der Mutter notariell beglaubigt unterschrieben wurde. Ob die notarielle Beglaubigung unbedingt notwendig war, wage ich nicht zu beurteilen, habe aber zur Sicherheit darauf bestanden. In Österreich war das damals (2013) beim Bezirksgericht für nur wenige Euro möglich.
CONSENT TO TRAVEL AND SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is in relation to my child, ............................................. [name of child], who is a citizen of ...................... [country of citizenship] and a minor born on................................................. [specify child’s date of birth]. My child holds an ............................. [country of citizenship] passport with the number ...............................
I do solemnly swear that I have legal sole custody of my child and that no pending divorce or child custody proceedings involving my child exist. Die Reisevollmacht (mit beglaubigter Unterschrift seiner allein sorgeberechtigten Mutter) wollte übrigens niemand sehen. Gefunden habe ich die Reisevollmacht, eigentlich besser "Reiseerlaubnis", in einem anderen Forum:
https://www.amerika-forum.de/threads/44244-einverstaendniserklaerung-vollmacht (Beitrag #4) - leider ist dort nicht mehr der komplette Text abrufbar, ich hatte den kompletten Text aber noch in einer Datei auf meinem Rechner (ich hoffe, der Link dorthin ist erlaubt, ansonsten den Link bitte löschen)
Noch wichtiger als die Erlaubnis der Eltern zur Reise selbst finde ich persönlich übrigens die Genehmigung, bei medizinischen Notfällen jederzeit sofort handeln zu dürfen. Auch wenn man sich im Normalfall in so einem Fall sofort mit den Eltern telefonisch absprechen wird, können hier Minuten zählen!
Auf diese Dinge haben wir damals bei der Vorbereitung für den mitreisenden Minderjährigen geachtet:
-eigener Pass
-eigenes ESTA
-eigene Reiseversicherung
-eigene Kreditkarte (bei unserem 17jährigen war das möglich, sogar in Verbindung mit der entsprechenden Reiseversicherung)
-natürlich etwas Taschengeld in bar
Auch wenn niemand die Reisevollmacht sehen wollte, hatten wir bei der Einreise trotzdem einen durchaus interessanten Dialog mit dem Immigration-Officer. Der junge Mann war ein oder zwei Jahre zuvor mit seinen Großeltern in Ägypten auf Urlaub und hatte von diesem Urlaub einen Stempel im Pass. Dieser Stempel fiel in die Aufmerksamkeit des Immigration-Officers, der dann ein wenig nachhakte, warum er in Ägypten war. "Vacation with grand-parents" war allerdings als Antwort ausreichend.
Nun habe ich mich mal auf die Suche gemacht und dazu etwas passendes gefunden.
